Alone time

Sometimes, when it's late and everyone is asleep, I head out to the living room and just sit. It's dark, and quiet, and so peaceful. Most days I spend at least two hours on a crowded highway, and 8 1/2 hours at work in a busy office. After cooking, cleaning, doing normal evening stuff, I need to do nothing. Everyone does. I don't like yoga, or any 'name' programs. I just sit. Sometimes I pray, sometimes talk to myself.

Mother

My mother is truely an amazing person. She was diagnosed one year ago with uterine cancer. She went through five months of chemo followed by six weeks of radiation. In between treatments, she managed to move from one city to another, and handle the sale of two houses. Once radiation ended, she drove across country, up the west coast, flew home, then flew to England and France for two weeks. Now she's trying to get over a cold so she can start chemo again. And earlier this week, she had a 'first date'. I've looked up to her for so long, she's been my guiding inspiration in business, and more and more in life. I hope that if I ever have to go through what she's going though, I handle it with the poise and determination that she is.
